Spring = Flowers

They began to peek through dark and gloomy days, then I saw color everywhere slowly waking up to the beginning of spring. Witnessing this explosion of color awakened the artist in me to create abstract flowers on paper and canvas.  Delicate petals, graceful stems and of course those mesmerizing colors of spring have become my muse.  Soft pastels, bright yellows and deep rich hues combined with intricate or simple pen lines, I aim to capture the optimism that spring brings.  Capturing the beauty of nature in abstract form is a joy for me.    Through blending, layering, and experimenting, I hope to evoke the beauty and vitality of spring.

While this joy of spring may turn into a bright summer and my art continues to move about, I hope my little bit can bring joy to others.

I do have some news though…Coming soon I will be holding some fun and adventurous art workshops, on Whidbey Island. They are designed to ignite your imagination. Whether you are an aspiring artist (or seasoned) and seeking a new way to express yourself, my workshops will be a sanctuary for creativity, growth and connection. Join me on this journey and be prepared to be inspired.  They will be limited in size so if you have an interest be sure to get on the waitlist. Below are the three class descriptions:

  1.  The Art of Letting Go: Release your inner Abstract Artist This workshop is more than just an abstract art class; its a journey uncovering your untapped creativity.  I will guide you through techniques to relinquish control and allow your creative spirit to emerge. We will discuss color, composition and texture to learn how to find your voice, silence that inner critic and overcome the need for perfection.   Experience the liberation of creating without boundaries.
  2.  Making Your Mark Using the fundamentals of art, we will discover the potent power of marks in conveying emotion and creating texture and interest.  We will delve into a variety of tools and techniques to find your unique mark-making language.  This workshop is perfect for those looking to infuse personality into their artworks.
  3. Abstract Florals Translate the natural beauty of flowers and plants into abstract interpretations on paper and canvas.  We will explore color, form and texture and how to convey the essence and energy of floral/botanical beauty.  We will spend time in the garden nurturing your vision to bring to life your creations.
